The Dorset Moths Annual Report for 2022 has arrived! It contains comprehensive coverage of all moth species (macros and micros) recorded in the vice-county during the year.
The report summarises over 72,000 moth records, covering 1,291 taxa, submitted by 349 individual recorders - who are listed in the report. Five new species for the county were recorded in Dorset, including one species that was new for the British mainland (Southern Brindled Green) and the first unaided record of Robust Tabby which somehow made it to our shores from North Africa or the Canaries.
As well as a full species listing, the Annual Report contains articles describing the year's moth highlights, a report on migrant species and a statistical summary of the year's records - including the ever-popular annual Dorset Top Twenty. Which was Dorset's most recorded moth species in 2022?
