Davey, P., 2009: A rare species confined to Surrey, Sussex and Kent, the larva feeding on the dead leaves of oak (Quercus spp.) and alder (Alnus spp.). In Dorset, the moth has been seen once, during a notable immigration from abroad. An easterly to south-easterly airflow is likely to have transported the moth from central Europe: Scar Bank, at light on 28 July 1948 (A Russell).
