Davey, P., 2009: A species found locally in south-east, central and northern England, Wales and Scotland, the larva feeding on various herbaceous plants before hibernation and the foliage of shrubs and trees in the spring. In Dorset, there are no recent records: Bere Wood, (O Pickard Cambridge), Cranborne Chase, on 30 July 1933 (A Russell) (see photo), Cranborne, (F Fisher, W Parkinson-Curtis).
