Davey, P., 2009: A species found across the southern half of Britain, the larva feeding on traveller's-joy (Clematis vitalba). In Dorset, the moth is frequent, and is found in the same chalky, clematis-rich, habitat type as the Small Waved Umber and the Fern. The flight time spans four months, and two brood cycles are suspected. The first cycle is a double brood with peaks in mid-June and mid-August. The second cycle is a single brood with a main peak in mid-July. The national norm is for a single brood between late June and early August. Recorded in 33 (83%) of 40 10k Squares. First Recorded in 1934. Last Recorded in 2023. (Data up to end 2023) |
