Davey, P., 2009: A widespread species in Britain, the larva feeding on Cruciferae species, and infesting cultivated vegetable such as cabbage, cauliflower and brussels sprouts (Brassica oleracea sp.). In Dorset, the moth is frequent locally in gardens and allotments where brassicas are grown. The relatively large number of records away from habitation on Purbeck, suggest colonisation of wild cabbage (Brassica oleracea) on cliff-tops and undercliffs, and of black mustard (Brassica nigra) on clay coasts along much of the Dorset coast. Immigration accounts for varying numbers every year. A bivoltine cycle is evident from the data.
