Phil Sterling, 2008: A woodland species, associated with the flowers of tree species, e.g. oak (Quercus spp.) and sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus). It is widespread throughout England. Before 1970 within Dorset, there are 11 records spread across the county (per WPC ms.); recent records indicate a similarly widespread distribution, although the moth is seldom common.
