Davey, P., 2009: A widespread species in southern England and Wales, more local further north, the larva feeding on lichens growing on heather (Calluna vulgaris and Erica spp.). In Dorset, the moth is common on heathland, and, in addition to a lichens-on-heather diet, larvae have also been found feeding on the petals of gorse (Ulex spp.) that have fallen to the ground: Trigon, Barrow Gallop 10 May 2000 (P Davey).
