Davey, P., 2009: A widespread species in Britain, the larva feeding on larch (Larix spp.). In Dorset, the moth is present in larch plantation, parkland and occasionally in woods where old larch trees have escaped felling. This species can be confused with the Grey Pug1837, but, the proximity of larch trees plus a white crest on the thorax of the Larch Pug give clues to identification.
